@ Apple Store buying new 3G iphones

I shot this video live form my 2G iPhone over the Apple Stores WiFi connection. You have to jailbreak the iPhone to use the Qik video app on your iPhone so I’ll have to pray that I don’t brick my 3G iPhone when I use WinPwn to free my iPhone from Apple’s Shackles and install Qik’s app again on my new shiny 3G.

Video Blogging Session at BlogSavannah Jan 25th 2008.

BlogSavannahIf you happen to be around the Savannah area this Friday and have even the slightest interest in blogging and internet communication, then stop by Armstrong Atlantic State University for the second annual BlogSavannah un-conference. It’s FREE!

Did you catch that word “un-conference”? For those of you unfamiliar with the un-conference format, the goal of these events is to take the amazing conversations, networking opportunities and ‘know how’ sharing that take place in the hallways between sessions at a normal conference and make that moment of connection and inspiration the actual focus of the un-conference sessions.

For instance, I’m the “conversation starter” for the 10 a.m. Video Blogging Session, but the session will NOT consist of a 30 slide PowerPoint presentation with me pontificating on video blogging best practices while you sit idly by going into post caffeine-coffee-coma.

The Vlogosphere is too dynamic a place to be so underhandedly treated. My goal in this session will be to draw you into the digital dialog and encourage you to go beyond a mere interest in video blogging to becoming a camera wielding Vlogger yourself.

I want to show you the pulsing bleeding edge of video blogging technology. I’ll share the amazing creators, storytellers, innovators, tools, tips and tricks that are shaping the Vlogosphere and encourage and empower you to carve out your own niche in this exciting medium.

But, but, but ……..this is a conversation. If there aren’t other passionate vloggers in the session sharing their own insights and experiences I’ll be sorely disappointed. I don’t want to rest on my “reels” as they say. There are plenty of amazing developments in video blogging that haven’t crossed my radar, but they’ve crossed yours. So come prepared to participate in the conversation, to learn, be inspired and to get equipped to capture and share the world as you see it in a whole new way.

If there are specific areas that you want to see discussed feel free to comment below or drop me an e-mail. Remember this session will be what we make of it so join in the exchange now.

New Media ‘Think and Drink’ at Red Light, Red Light Saturday Jan 5th at 5:30pm

New Media Brew-ha-ha!

This Saturday 5:30 at Red Light Red Light in Winter Park (map) we’re having a casual gathering of local new media mavens. Basically it’s a happy hour or what I like to call a ‘think and drink’ for anyone who likes to play with digital media and the web.

PodCamp LogoThe goal of the meeting is to catch up with friends, both new and old, share a pint and discuss the possibility of hosting a new media / digital media conference this year in O-town.

There are a lot of us creating and digesting digital media content in Central Florida and it would be so cool to bring everyone together for a BarCamp like event that gives us the chance to shoot the digital breeze and see what new and innovative things the community is up to. Mark and Ryan have mentioned that the popular PodCamp conference focuses on the New Media Community so we can discuss whether that format best serves the community.

So if you Digg new media and want to StumbleUpon a tasty new beer come by Red Light this Saturday at 5:30 and join the discussion.

Cheers.

P.S. Ryan just set up an Upcoming Event Info and RSVP page - You don’t have to RSVP but if you want to or need more info check it out.
