Wow this images is really screwing with my sense of reason. OK so basically if you see the dancer in the image rotating clockwise than you are a right brain kid. Counter-clockwise just the opposite - you’re a lefty.
Here’s the rub she dances both ways for me. If I look at her she dances counter clockwise, but if i read other text on the screen she dances clockwise. Suffice it so that my brain is really wigging out. Please comment as to how you see the image. This is important for my sanity.
I find that I can focus my thoughts and change the way she twirls. What the hell!!!!! If all else fails move closer to the image and you can notice her change directions. Please someone explain this to me. Hopefully Snopes has something on this. Am I loosing my mind?
Dead on, clockwise. Reading, clockwise. Looking down and away, counter clockwise. Strange.
Naturally she spins clockwise for me. But I can also focus my thoughts and have her spin either way. Although its weird, when she is spinning clockwise in my mind, I have to try much harder to picture her spinning counter-clockwise but once I get it, she stays counter-clockwise until I think about it clockwise again. I think I am starting to go cross-eyed!
Thank you friends for jumping down the rabbit hole with me. In the immortal words of Sipher “What a Mind Job”!
Hmm, I see her spinning both ways as well…most predominantly clockwise. But the rub is that I’m not a right brained person, I’m most definitely left brained. Anyway, I could swear there was a pause before she switched rotation direction.
Spinning? I don’t know. I see nipples.
Wow, I must be really strongly right brained because I had to really work to get it to look like she was going counter clockwise for even a moment and then I couldn’t do it again!
Strange. I see her going clockwise 99% of the time, but if I look away randomly and back again, sometimes she starts going anti-clockwise (though I can’t consciously make her change direction).
Thought there might be some trickery going on in the animated GIF, but it’s standard stuff… 34 frames, no weirdness. Mind boggling!
I can’t for the life of me see her going any direction but clockwise. I’ve spent 5 minutes now trying to see how she could possibly be spinning counter clockwise and I can’t.
Are you guys yanking my chain? You can actually see her going the counter clockwise?
Tilt your head down, and bring your eyes up so you can only see her shadow and imagine her moving the opposite direction.
If you REALLY want a challenege, open up two windows and make them go opposite directions. It’s possible, I’m doing it right now
Judson i tried what you said got it in about 30 secs. The way you perceive is just a mentality thats been built up upon. if you try perceiving her going the other way focus on that and look at the shadow if it might help and its possible. It doesn’t necessarily have to do with brain dominance because I’m pretty sure I’m middle brained or moderately left but i can see it both ways if i focus on the shadow. I’ve seen this on many websites and the most dominant feedback is that people cant comprehend or see it going the counter clockwise. Either most of the people are right brained or that this test focuses more on how you can comprehend and your ability to focus on things that require both logic and a bit of that right brained touch (the ability to sort of, space out). I’m pretty sure that you wont be able to perceive it both ways unless you’re middle brained, but then again, I,m only 14 what do i know?
I can change it at will. It took me a few minutes. At first it was counter clockwise but then I looked at the shadow of her feet and saw it change. Now I can do it at will.
At first I saw her turning clockwise but upon concentrating on left brained qualities I see her turning counter clockwise. So I guess I’m middle brained. I’m also left handed when doing activities that require fine but cross dominant when it comes to doing activities that don’t require small movements (e.g. sports). I don’t know if that makes a difference but I thought I would just throw the idea out there.
